Homemade Mustard Bath
Mustard baths are said to help relieve achy muscles, colds, fatigue and stress. The warmth of the mustard increases circulation to the skin, which helps with detoxification, decongestion and can help reduce tension and pain. It is best to take a mustard bath before going to bed or spending time reading or watching a movie. Do not take a mustard bath in the morning before needing to be active!
Ingredients to make 4 baths:
- ½ cup sea salt/kalahari desert salt
- ¼ cup epsom salt
- ¼ cup mustard powder
- 6 drops wintergreen or peppermint essential oil
- 6 drops rosemary essential oil
- 6 drops eucalyptus essential oil
Place all of the ingredients in a glass jar and mix together.
Add 4 Tablespoons to a running bath and swish around to disperse the powder.
For a foot soak, use 1-2 Tablespoons.
Mustard baths are very relaxing so be prepared for a great night’s sleep!
